Great things are going on this month as we prepare to being our Christmas season in early October! This is a beautiful time of year, and as the weather begins to cool down (a little) its a great time to take the family and children outside for a portrait session!

Our New Charity: Angels of Faith

As portrait artists, we are and have been truly blessed for over 25 years to meet and capture memories of precious children each day. We have seen many children from the day their proud parents introduced them to us at newborn, until they become adults. Every child holds a very special place in our hearts. Some children are born to serve an extraordinary purpose in life, while dealing with hardships. We have had the privilege of meeting and photographing several children that live with cerebral palsy.

Cerebral palsy is a chronic condition affecting the body movement and muscle coordination. Currently, about 8,000 babies and infants are diagnosed with the condition each year. 1,200-1,500 preschool age children are recognized each year to have cerebral palsy. It is very important to help the child achieve maximum potential in growth and development. Children that live with cerebral palsy often need
medication, surgery, braces and special care to improve nerve and muscle coordination.

We have learned from these children that live with cerebral palsy, although some may not be able to walk or talk, that they each have a huge heart, big smile and such sweet spirits. They have inspired us to start a charity to help make a difference in lives of children and families affected by this condition. One special friend of ours, Ethan, the nephew of Krissy that works at our studio, has become involved in helping with the charity. Ethan lives with cerebral palsy and it does not hold back his loving spirit of giving. He was asked, "Ethan, do you want to help raise money for children like you to have things that they need?" He smiled and shook his head yes. Ethan lives everyday with the faith of an angel.

Being heartfelt portrait artists, we will create a calendar called "Angels of Faith". The calendars will raise money for cerebral palsy. We plan to photograph children for the calendar every year, starting this year. We are inviting you to be a part of this exciting journey with us.

We will be photographing children from newborn to 3 years old for the 2011 calendar July 15th, 16th, 17th, 22nd, 23rd and August 19th-21st, 2010. In September and October, we will make all the images available on line to vote for your favorite angel. Each vote costs $1 and will be donated to Easter Seals United Cerebral Palsy. The 12 photographs with the most votes will be included in the calendar. The calendars will be sold for $12.99 each, with the proceeds being donated the Easter Seals UCP. There are several ways we are inviting you to help.

We're very busy in the studio this week! Jim and Phillip have spent the weekend building our brand new Easter set! Its a beautiful building with a blue door that will surely compliment your children's Easter clothing very nicely! Hey Guys!! Despite the frigid temperatures and the snow that we got last night, we're planning for Spring and Easter is just around the corner! This year we're very excited about our brand-new, custom set! We'll be building a stucco, rustic cottage with an aged blue door to accent! As always, flowers will be adorning the set along with an antique bicycle! If you're looking for the perfect time to have your children's portraits made, this is it! No other time during the year do we offer such amazing outdoor sets, indoors!

Happy Tuesday Morning everyone! We're back in the studio today, getting things started, and we've just posted our 2010 Calendar! We'll leave it up on the blog so that all of you can see what's going on at the studio. We're introducing five brand new sets this year, and this means we'll need lots of models! Stay tuned to the blog and to facebook for the latest modeling information! We're looking forward to a great year and hope that you all will be a part of it!

Late yesterday afternoon, we had a great office meeting and we want to let you all know that we have great things in store for you this year! Our newsletter is now under construction and we'll be getting it out to all of you within the next few weeks! We'll be introducing five brand new Limited Edition sets for your children this year as well as a brand new portrait line that you won't want to miss out on! More information will follow about our Artisan Portraits on the blog in the next few days as well as how to get a great deal by hosting a Home Show! Crider's Photography has been sited to photograph baby models for Posh Little Tutu in California. These models will be used for their website for the company and for their brochures. If you are interested - please give me a call. They are presently sending me Happy Birthday Tutus - so I will need several baby girls that is one year old.

2008 holds great anticipation for our Christmas promotion at the studio. We are so excited about the new creative ideas and sets we are working on for Christmas 2008. We have created 2 new series in our " Old World Santa Collection" new for 2008. Our Winter Wonderland Santa is sure to excite everyone. Wow, the colors in santa's new robe is fantastic. Following up our Winter Wonderland Santa will be our "Classic Warm Christmas." Traditional colors by all accounts, however we have added a special look to all of the Classic Warm Christmas images. This session will have an artistic edge with handwork on all photos viewed and ordered. (Exciting) If you are looking for a family Christmas set, look no further. We are dedicating ourselves to another exclusive Christmas set " I'll be Home for Christmas." This set will be an outdoor front porch set exclusive from Crider's.
